Why do football clubs spend small fortunes on their coaching staff and training facilities?
Because they recognise that elite performance requires that players can train in the best possible environment with all the expertise available that they require.
Through their association The Warren Golf Club and Golf Fit are in the almost unique position of being able to offer everything the elite player requires for all year round training, and all on one site. Fitness conditioning takes place in the golf specific gym. Short game practise takes place on one of the best short game areas in the county, with all year round practise being possible on the state of the art synthetic surface installed last year. Full swing practise can take place on one of the largest natural turf practise grounds in the area. To finish the day off the player can play a few holes after 3.30 pm on the testing golf course.
Responsibility for making use of the membership to its full potential will be the responsibility of player, but once the player arrives every effort will be made by the training staff to direct and drive the players training. Rob Page and Andy Morrison areon site most days, and even if not working directly with the player that day, will ensure that players’ training is taking place in a focused and constructive manner. The modern player needs to excel in many different areas, and to ensure this can happen every possible area of performance will be covered. To look after the mental game the services one of the most qualified sports psychologists in the region has been sought. BASES accredited psychologist Jonathan Bint, who works with the English Golf Union squads, will work individually with player’s enrolled on the Ultimate membership.
